Sound Beach FD responded at 12:40 PM with neighboring departments to assist Rocky Point FD at a commercial structure fire on Roosevelt St.
Engine 9 handled overhaul operations and checked for fire extension. Members cleared the scene after about an hour.
Departments on scene: Miller Place, Wading River, Brookhaven National Lab. Mt. Sinai covered Rocky Point for additional alarms.

Severe bleeding from traumatic injuries is a leading cause of preventable death — accounting for 40% of trauma-related fatalities and 35% of pre-hospital deaths.

🔥🚒 Fire Safety Night Recap! 🚒🔥

Our community came out last night to learn about fire safety and how to prevent hazards around their homes. Everyone got to see a live demonstration of a room on fire — showing just how important it is to keep bedroom doors closed to help stop the spread of fire and smoke.
