Brush Fire End Of Port Jefferson Road

Earlier today at approximately 5:50 PM, members responded to a reported brush fire at the end of Port Jefferson Road.
The First Chief arrived on scene and found a brush fire covering an area of approximately 75 feet. Engine 9 was first due and stretched two lengths of forestry hose, quickly beginning fire suppression efforts. Brush 5 arrived shortly after and deployed an additional forestry line ... Car Accident In Front Of St Louis DeMontfor Church

On March 30th at approximately 3:30 pm, the department responded to a reported vehicle rollover in front of St Louis De Montfort Church on New York Avenue. Upon arrival, first responders were informed that the vehicle had collided with a pole, resulting in downed wires, and reports indicated the driver was trapped. St. Patrick's Day Parade

The Sound Beach Fire Department was proud to participate in the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The Irish eyes were certainly smiling, and it was great to see so many familiar faces along the parade route.

Car Fire
Ex-Chief John Drews III, March 15
On Sunday, March 15th at approximately 12:30 AM, the Sound Beach Fire Department was activated for a reported vehicle fire in a driveway on Echo Avenue.
The first Chief responding was advised that the vehicle was located near a detached garage and a fence. Upon arrival, the Chief reported the vehicle was fully involved in fire.

Mutual Aid Structure Fire To Ridge

On Thursday, March 12th at 9:36 PM, the Sound Beach Fire Department was activated to respond to the Ridge Fire Department for a working structure fire. Our department was requested to respond as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) for the incident. All three Chiefs and Rescue 4 responded to the scene. Blizzard 2026

Following the recent blizzard, the Sound Beach Fire Department responded to numerous alarms including a motor vehicle accident, a carbon monoxide alarm, and a tree down.
During the storm, members stood by at the firehouse ready to respond to any emergencies to ensure the safety of our community. Fortunately, no alarms occurred while the storm was actively impacting our area.
