| Earlier today at approximately 5:50 PM, members responded to a reported brush fire at the end of Port Jefferson Road.
The First Chief arrived on scene and found a brush fire covering an area of approximately 75 feet. Engine 9 was first due and stretched two lengths of forestry hose, quickly beginning fire suppression efforts. Brush 5 arrived shortly after and deployed an additional forestry line to assist with extinguishment and overhaul.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of our crews, the fire was brought under control and fully extinguished. Units remained on scene for approximately one hour to ensure all hot spots were addressed.
Great work by all members involved.
