Sound Beach And Miller Place FD Visits Miller Place Schools For Fire Prevention Week

By Ex-Chief John Drews III

October 10, 2025

🔥🚒 Fire Safety Day at School! 🚑✨

Today, the Sound Beach and Miller Place Fire Departments visited the Andrew Muller Primary School and Laddie A. Decker School!

Our firefighters and EMTs had a blast showing students the tools we use to fight fires, giving them a peek inside the ambulance, and teaching them how we help people who are sick or injured. 💪

We also talked about fire safety at home and reviewed Operation EDITH (Exit Drills In The Home) — helping kids learn how to stay safe if there’s ever an emergency.

It was a fun, educational day — and we hope everyone learned something new! 🙌

Both Sound Beach and Miller Place Fire Departments are always looking for new members. Interested in joining? Send us a message — we’d love to have you on the team! 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒
