| At approximately 2:30 this morning the Sound Beach Fire Department, along with multiple other fire departments, was mutual aided to the Rocky Point Fire Department N.Y. for a commercial structure fire on Main St. Rocky Point. First-arriving units from RPFD found a well-involved fire upon arrival which was made more challenging by the collapse of the roof and a downed power line in front of the building.
Our Engine 9 responded to the scene and secured a backup fire hydrant, while firefighters assisted RPFD with overhaul and mop-up for a little over an hour before being released and returning to service around 4:00 am.
