❄️ Winter Storm Safety Reminder ❄️
The Sound Beach Fire Department would like to remind all residents to stay safe during the upcoming winter storm.

🚒 Our crews will be standing by during the storm, ready to respond to emergencies as conditions allow.

🏠 Stay Safe at Home
• Stay indoors whenever possible
• Keep emergency supplies on hand (flashlights, batteries, medications, water)
• Use space heaters safely—keep them at least 3 feet from anything that can burn
• Never use grills, generators, or ovens indoors for heat
• Check on elderly neighbors and those who may need assistance

🚗 If You Must Travel
• Avoid unnecessary travel during the storm
• Drive slowly and allow extra stopping distance
• Be alert for black ice, especially on bridges and side roads

⚡ Power Outages
• Use flashlights instead of candles
• Keep generators outdoors and away from windows
• Stay clear of downed power lines—assume they are live

📞 Call 911 Immediately If:
• There is a fire or smoke condition
• Someone is injured or having a medical emergency
• A motor vehicle accident involves injuries or entrapment
• You encounter a downed power line
• There is a life-threatening situation

🚨 For non-emergency issues, please contact the appropriate utility or service provider so 911 lines remain open.

Please stay safe, stay warm, and look out for one another.
