| On Saturday, September 6th, the Sound Beach Fire Department responded to a mutual aid request from the Rocky Point Fire Department to assist a distressed sailboarder. The Sound Beach team launched their boat from the Woodhull Landing Access and headed east towards Rocky Point. While en route to the sailboarder, it was reported that the individual had successfully made it to shore under their own power. The prompt response from all departments involved was commendable. As a fire department, Sound Beach not only responds to fires and medical emergencies but also to water-related incidents.
