On Sunday December 5, 2004 the Sound Beach Fire Department had its annual Santa's ride and community tree lighting. The Santa's ride consists of a parade of department vehicles going thru town with Santa, handing out candy canes to community residents both young and old. Then after the ride is complete we invite the whole community back to the firehouse for the annual arrival of Santa by fire truck. When Santa arrives at the firehouse he lights the tree located in front of the firehouse. This years tree was donated by Shirley Schmidt a long time community resident of Sound Beach.
