On Friday May 7^th, 2004 at 2000 hrs.,the Sound Beach Fire Department was activated for a signal 16-23, an auto accident with a pedestrian stuck, on Sound Beach Blvd.  Upon arrival of the crew of 5A6-17 it was determined that a medivac helicopter would be needed to transport the patient to Stony Brook University Hospital.  Suffolk County Police Aviation Unit was dispatched to the scene.  Sound Beach Fire Dept. personnel were under the command of Chief Mike Bennett.
