Around eight a.m. on a misty Friday morning we were banged out with a signal 24 on a 16/23, motor vehicle accident, to Rocky Point F.D. We were requested to bring a Heavy Rescue Truck with all the speedy dry we had and an Ambulance. Once on scene we could clearly see what the speedy dry was for. We proceeded to dam up the drainage system the keep them from getting contaminated by the now flowing heating oil. The truck was carrying about 2,000 gallons when it overturned onto a mini van. All occupant's suffered only minor injuries. All the oil in the truck was transferred to a different truck. After which the tow truck driver (Parkside Towing) had the task of righting the truck back onto its wheels, and the street was cleaned up. Photos by Larz Schwartz, Jim Mcloughlin. |
