On Saturday April 14, 2007 members of the Sound Beach Fire Department participated in the Flashover Simulator training at the Suffolk County Fire Academy.  The simulator teaches firefighters to recognize some of the signs of an impending flashover and what actions to take if these signs occur.  The drill is a very intense one where firefighters are exposed to extreme heat conditions.
