Annual Organizational Meeting, January 2004

The Sound Beach Fire Department held their annual installation Dinner on Saturday, February 7th at the East Wind Caters in Wading River. The purpose of the dinner is to have the formal swearing in of the department line officers as well as administrative officers. In addition to this several members are recognized for there accomplishments and achievements over the past year.

 Lynn was assured a negative response would not be cause for a suspension.

 

Firefighter Michael Rosasco receives the Engine Company 1 service award for 2003.  Presenting the award is his father and Captain Co # 1 Bill Rosasco.

Firefighter Brian McGrath receives the Engine Company # 2 service award for 2003.  Presenting the award is Captain Ed Hudson, Ex Captain Jim Strauch, and Lieut. Tom Sternberg.

 

Firefighter Joe Loconte receives the firefighter of the year award for 2003.  Presenting the award is Chief Mike Bennett.

 

 

The chiefs of the Sound Beach Fire Department are being sworn in for the year 2004. At the far left is 2nd  Assistant Chief John Strahm, center is 1st Assistant Chief John Drews, and on the far right is Chief Mike Bennett.

Sara Fischer receives the Rescue Person of the Year plaque from Chief Bennett.

Chief Mike Bennett presents Patty Blasberg and Lynne Bergmann with the Truck of the Year award for 5A6-17 for the year 2003.

Margie Batillo is recognized for her 40 years of service to the Sound Beach Fire Department.

Annual Organizational Meeting, January 2004

On Tuesday January 6, 2004 the Sound Beach Fire District held its annual Organizational meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to re-establish the policies and standard operating procedures of the District for the year 2004. In addition to this the official swearing in of the Chief of Department Mike Bennett as well as Asst. Chiefs John Drews and John Strahm took place. Newly elected Chairmen of the Board Phil Alaimo administered the oath of office to Commissioner Jim Hart who won reelection of another 5 year term.
